This Sunday at C3 we wrap up “Phobia” - I really believe this message will be extremely helpful. We’re going to look at the one fear we all wrestle with sometimes, but never talk about. There are those moments in life we desperately need God to move - to do something - we have a need, we know he can meet and we need him to do so. However, deep inside there’s often that question… that wondering - the fear of what if God won’t …

Its real and its huge. How do we process those times in life. What if there’s a major truth that Scripture reveals that we’ve not considered. Don’t miss this Sunday - invite someone to come with you.

(Remember, no services on May 25)

Since launching 90 for 90, I’ve heard many stories of God working in lives. I recently received a note from a guy named Eric who is relatively new to C3. His story is an example of the faithfulness of God when we live by faith and not feelings – the power of the simplicity of obedience.

After going through a severe life crisis, difficult divorce, and financial struggle, Eric says he found himself in a very self destructive behavior. He writes,

“One day I woke up and was ridden with anxiety and depression. I was barely able to work and many nights I could not sleep. This anxiety was so severe; I had physical ailments. I believe God knew this would get my attention. I finally gave up. I prayed daily for an answer from him. I was convinced that this was not God’s plan for me. The anxiety did not disappear; in fact it continued to get worse. I continued to pray and submit to God.

A few months prior to the events that led up to April 6th, I had attended C3 for the first time in the first part of January 08. Then I returned once more leading up to the Big & Rich sermon April 6th.

I felt God’s presence at C3 on April 6th. I sat in the fourth row and the sermon spoke directly to me. It addressed almost every issue that I was currently going through. It also challenged me to take a step of faith with my finances by tithing. I had not been tithing regularly prior to this sermon at any church I had attended. That morning I knew I was at the end of the rope. I did not have enough money to continue paying my bills. My house would ultimately have to be put up for sale. Giving money was the farthest thing from my mind! Yet I took the challenge to walk in faith. That morning I gave ten percent of my most recent paycheck and submitted to God’s plan, even if that meant doing something I did not want to do.

This is where God stepped in. I believe he knew my body could not take much more of the anxiety/depression. I believe he knew that I had such a large dose of discomfort that I would never forget the experience.”

That very day Eric received a call that would be God’s moving in his life. He had been recommended to interview to be the personal assistant to Burt Reynolds. If hired, he would start immediately, which required him to quit his current job, which wasn’t bringing the income he needed, just to go for the interview, without any guarantee of a job.

The next day he interviewed and was hired. He writes,

“I was asked the next day to sign a 90 day probationary contract for enough money to take care of all my monthly bills in one pay period! That God knew me better than I knew myself. That I could muster up all of the plans that I thought were good for me and God would come in and trump me.

It has been almost a month now. I have been well received by all of Burt’s staff thus far. Better yet it seemed to be that I have naturally been really good at being a personal assistant. Through this experience, I have been focusing on how to bless others from this opportunity. The house that has three bedrooms that I thought I was I going to lose is being going to be rented by three different individuals well below market rent. God brought me three people in need for housing during this tough economic time. God has made it clear that I use these blessings to help others. I continue to focus on God. I need him daily to make the right decisions. I know his plans are better than mine! I walk in Faith and focus on today.

Could God have had this moment planned for me from the beginning? That means God had plans for me. That means God has plans for everyone. This is truly amazing. The God of the universe cares deeply for us. We just need to accept and submit to him.

Thank you for the sermon at C3.” – Eric Hix

God keeps his promises! C3, let’s be faithful in the 90 for 90, you just never know what God’s about to do next. If you haven’t signed up for FLE with Joe Sangl - do it NOW.
